About these terms

These terms apply when you use the Akada mobile app and learnwithakada.com (together, "Akada"), operated by First Class Scholars Academy Ltd., Lagos, Nigeria ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Akada you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

Your account

• Give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• If you are under 18, use Akada with the permission of a parent or guardian.
• One person, one account. Accounts can’t be sold, shared or transferred.
• Tell us straight away at hello@learnwithakada.com if you think someone else is using your account.

Plans and payments

• Some content needs a paid plan. Each plan shows its price and how long it lasts before you pay.
• Payments are processed by Paystack. We never see or store your card details.
• If you buy a plan while one is still running, the new one starts when the current one ends.
• Plans are not refundable once they start, except where the law says otherwise. If you were charged and didn’t get access, contact support with your payment reference.

Subscription codes

• A subscription code gives one student access to the plan it was issued for, for the length shown. Each code works once.
• Codes have no cash value and can’t be exchanged for money.
• We may switch off codes that were obtained or shared fraudulently.

Agents

• Agents buy batches of codes at a discount and resell them to students. Batches are not refundable once the codes are created.
• Sell codes at the plan’s listed price or less, and only to real students.
• Keep unsold codes private. You are responsible for codes you share, including ones shared by mistake.
• We may suspend an agent account and its codes for misuse, such as reselling codes we have cancelled.

Tutors and your content

• You keep ownership of the videos, notes and other content you upload.
• You allow us to host, show, adapt for different devices and promote your content on Akada for as long as it is published, and to keep copies needed for records.
• Only upload content you have the right to share, that is accurate, and that is suitable for students.
• We review content and may decline or remove anything that breaks these terms.

Using Akada fairly

Please don’t:

• copy, download or share our questions, lessons or videos outside Akada, except where the app lets you;
• cheat in challenges or leaderboards, or use bots or scripts;
• harass other users or post anything unlawful, hateful or explicit;
• try to break, overload or get around the security of Akada.

Exams and results

Akada helps you prepare for exams such as UTME, WAEC and NECO. We are not affiliated with any exam body, and practice scores and predictions are guides, not guarantees of your result.

Referrals and rewards

Referral rewards, where offered, are shown in the app with their current amounts and rules. We may change or end a reward scheme, and may cancel rewards earned through fake accounts or other abuse.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from the app or at learnwithakada.com/settings/delete-account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Any time left on a plan ends when the account is deleted.

Our responsibility

We work to keep Akada accurate and available, but it is provided as it is and may sometimes be unavailable or contain mistakes. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms. When we make important changes we will tell you in the app or by email, and update the date above. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
